Annie’s innate interest in wildlife was latent while she lived in her hometown of Walnut, CA. Feeling unhappy with the lack of impact she was having on the ecosystem, she decided to transfer to Washington State University to pursue her new path. During her youth, she spent her summers working with a non-profit organization in several countries throughout East Asia. Her experience as a summer research fellow at the San Diego Zoo’s Institute of Conservation Research studying reticulated giraffes, coupled with her most recent service/learning trip building biodigesters with communities in rural Ecuador, solidified her passions. Annie is now a senior studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Sciences with a minor in Sustainable Development. She is excited to be working with Phoenix Conservancy again and is focusing on creating opportunities within the Pullman community to raise awareness of the endangered state of Palouse Prairie.
