The Phoenix Conservancy is proud to announce our Crystal Jewelry Fundraiser to protect and restore The Lost Forest of Ivohiboro in southwestern Madagascar.
Explored in 2016, the forest is home to at least 2 lemur species that have yet to be described, as well as the iconic and endangered ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta). Under constant threat of fire destruction, the forest is partly protected by massive quartzite mountains. These mountains have inspired two lines of handmade quartz crystal jewelry to raise funds to save Ivohiboro, and every piece sold creates jobs constructing firebreaks and restoring rainforest.
By improving job opportunities and the lives of the people that depend on the forest, The Phoenix Conservancy is working to secure the future of Ivohiboro, endangered lemurs, and the people of one of the world’s poorest countries. Best of all, you get to add jewelry to your collection that makes a real difference for endangered ecosystems. Head over to our fundraiser page or check out the Madagascar Project page to learn more!
